2a: A really good class / workshop / demo listing in our GWW publicity
2b: A good teaching experience with students who know what to expect
3. Teachers get A&S information as a group so put Arts@caid-gww.org in your contact list to avoid our being classified as spam. Not receiving GWW A&S Area information can hamper teaching a class effectively
NAMING OF NAMES: "A&S" was the original name of the Arts & Sciences area. Last year, Artisans Enclave was added to introduce the concept of workshops & demos, so we called the mixture "The A&S Area". This year we want to emphasize the sciences, so are returning to our original A&S name. Confused? It’s still the same game so come play anyway!
Class, Workshop, or Demo? What's That?
- A Class is primarily a sit-down, structured lesson where the student's main activities are watching, listening, and taking notes.
- A Workshop is designed to give students hands-on participation in learning a technique or skill and often involves making something. Supplies are frequently necessary for workshops.
- A Demo focuses on the instructor's actions and instruction, with little or no student hands-on but lots of spectator interest.
NOTE: For the purpose of shortening the wordage on this form, “Class” will stand for class, workshop and/or demo.
