Rules of Youth Point

Youth Point is designed to engage all of our youth from 5-17 years old in age-appropriate activities. We are grateful to all our community members who are sharing their skills during this war. This will be the first year that we are offering classes that specifically fulfill Caid's Page School requirements. You do not need to be participating in Page School to attend classes, but if you are, be sure to ask your teacher to sign your booklet. Teens: don’t forget to check out the Teen Challenge!

Page School

What are our age divisions?
1-Crescent Pages: Our youngest group, from approximately 5-8 years old, who are intended to participate mainly with the attendance and help of their parents as is appropriate to their social development.
2-Crescent Pages: From approximately 9-11 years old, these youth are an increasingly independent group that, while still anchored in the family, are exploring beyond those boundaries.
3-Crescent Pages: Youth from approximately 12-14 who are ready to act independently and with their peers.
4-Crescent Senior Pages: Our near-adult members ages 15-17 who are ready for greater challenges and responsibilities.

Notes for Parents

This is not a day care or babysitting service. There will be no adult supervision at Youth Point before 10 AM, during the lunch break from 12 noon-1 PM, or after 3 PM. Children 5 and under MUST be in the presence of a parent or parent substitute at all times. Children 6-12 must be within sight and sound of a parent or parent substitute at all times (walkie-talkies and cell phones do not count). Youth over 12 are considered to be responsible persons who can conduct themselves appropriately.

What is a Parent Substitute? A parent substitute is a person who accepts responsibility for the health and welfare of someone else's child and knows where the parent can be located. This allows one adult member of a household to bring several household children to activities while the others go off to fight or play. Teens 16 and up may act as parent substitutes for up to 3 children.

Teen Challenge

The Teen Challenge is designed to give teens the opportunity to participate in a friendly competition. Points will be awarded to teens who register their intention to compete and report on their progress and activities. The categories are:

  1. Arts & Sciences (classes taken or taught)
  2. Marshal activities (Youth Combat, archery, thrown weapons, etc.)
  3. Volunteer hours.

Please check in at Youth Point on the day you arrive or the next morning to get started! Youth Point will be open beginning Friday morning, but if you arrive before that, keep track of your points and bring your score sheet to YP on Friday to register. The winner will be announced at Closing Court and will receive an award.
